Finally! Eric and the programming team have added a photo uploader to the forums so you can now upload images directly to the forum discussions.  The pic below shows the button to add photos.

I'm Mike, a software developer located in Portland, Oregon working with Bob on ISO (I'm the programming team mentioned above).  I've known Bob since the mid 90s through being friends with Eric.  Bob's truly one of the most amazing photographers and all around amazing person to have met - it's such a privilege to be working with Bob and the community at ISOConnection here so thanks!

This past week I've been rewriting and making major enhancements to the forums and posting tools.  In addition to this HTML editor that Bob has mentioned above I've also changed the way posts are now stored and presented.  As Bob mentioned above we now have the ability to upload photos to ISO to be used on the forums (instead of only being able to link to images like before).  One of the new features I will be rolling out here shortly are that images will be resized on upload to a maximum width of 700 pixels - and what this will do is prevent images from pushing the forum post off the page (a perfect example of this is Bob's post above where his image is pushing the forum width out).  And in addition to this the original image will still be saved on the server and will be available to the user when they click on forum post images now (we are using Lightbox for this).  This will make more sense when you see the new forum enhancements in action.

I've also been testing the new HTML editor and I've found that it works best for me in FireFox (in my testing Chrome and IE didn't work as well as FireFox).  And this mostly refers to when editing a post - with the new editor when you add a link or image the image will appear here in the editor.  If you want to make changes to the link or image you can click it and in the tool bar the appropriate button will highlight for you to make changes.  In FireFox this works perfectly - when you click the highlighted button it prefills the box with your photo or link details - in Chrome or IE it will not fill in the details requiring you to fill them in again.  This is a result of the editor we're using and I'll see if I can't find more solutions for this but for now this my best recommendation is to use FireFox but certainly the other browsers work well too except for the editing I mentioned above.

I'm hoping to have the new forum code out on ISOConnection.com in next few days.  All prior forum posts will be formatted for the new format - meaning all prior images will now be lightboxed and linked images will be resized in the display to have a maximum width of 700px.  If anyone has any questions or comments feel free to drop me a message or post to the forum.

What about an option to set a cookie so we can stay logged in ?

Sorry for the late reply - keeping the session alive for an extended period of time is a really great idea - I've added it to the list of desired ISO features.  Thanks too for sharing that :)
